Richard “Rick” Michael Butterfield, age 74, of Bristol, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Rick was born on February 13, 1947 in Indianapolis to Albert A. and Mary L. Butterfield. He married Kathryn D. Tipton on July 29, 1981 in Indianapolis.

Rick attended the University of Southern California. A Vietnam veteran, Rick honorably served as a helicopter door gunner in the United States Marine Corps. Rick had a passion for everything he did in life, but above all he loved his family.

Rick is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kathy; children, Richard Michael II (Beverly) Butterfield of Indianapolis, Scott Allen (Laura) Butterfield of Indianapolis and Christopher D. Butterfield of Indianapolis, Jennifer (Mark) Davis of Texas and Kristina L.
