Rosamond "Joan" (Stickley) Mapes

Rosamond “Joan” Mapes, age 90, of Bristol passed away on July 18, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital surrounded by her family. Joan was born on December 16, 1931 in Walkerton, IN to James R. and Nellie M. Stickley. She married the love of her life Norman G. Mapes, he preceded her in death on September 7, 1980.

Joan graduated from Walkerton High School. She worked a waitress for several years and retired from Selmer-Vincent Bach as a final inspector after 30 ½ years of service. She was a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge #559, where she received her 30-year membership pin, Friendly Pioneers and Bristol United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Joan is survived by her children Edward A. (Donna) Mapes of Elkhart and Patricia A. Hayes of Elkhart; daughter-in-law Connie Mapes of Elkhart; 6 grandchilden, 2 step-grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and her step-brother James (Kay) Seiders of North Liberty, IN. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, son Donald E. Mapes, and her 8 sisters and 3 brothers.
