Shelley Schneider Obituary

Shelley Kay Schneider, 59, of Georgetown, KY, passed away suddenly on March 12, 2021 at Georgetown Community Hospital, Georgetown, KY. She was born July 5, 1961 in Elkhart to Jim and Meg Wolgamood. On August 22, 1981 in Elkhart, she married Herb Schneider.

Shelley graduated from Elkhart Central High School, Class of 1979. She graduated from Ivy Tech with a Degree in Business Management. She worked at Trinity Lutheran Church, starting as an administrative assistant and working her way up to Business Manager. She and her family moved to Kentucky where she worked for the Secretariat Center, a retraining center for retired race horses to be adopted.

She thoroughly enjoyed her job but her favorite pastime was sewing and making things for friends and family. Her real passion became quilting and many Saturdays were spent at the local fabric store learning and sharing with other quilters. Shelley’s strong faith and dedication to Jesus helped her through all of life’s trials that she faced. She loved her family and will be missed by all, even though they know she is in the loving arms of her Savior.

Shelley leaves behind her husband, Herb, daughter Ericka (Grant) Gilbert both of Georgetown, KY, granddaughter, Anniston Gilbert, her parents Jim and Meg Wolgamood of Bristol and her sister Lori Wolgamood of Bristol.

A memorial service for Shelley will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to The Secretariat Center, 4155 Walt Robinson Rd, Lexington, KY, 40511 or on the website: www.secretariatcenter.org
