Wanda Elaine Wood

Wanda E. Wood must have been all smiles when she went to meet her maker and was reunited with the love of her life early January 1st, 2022.

Wanda was born on February 19th, 1948 in Winding Gulf, West Virginia to Sam and Easter Goff.

Being 1 of 11 children Wanda was met with open arms by brothers’ Carl, Ron, Kenny and Quinton and sisters –Dorothy, Reva, and Ruby.  Carrying on her infectious smile and Godly spirit are sisters Christine Stanfield, Nora House, and Debbie Goff.

Wanda and Robert married in 1966 and had 3 daughters, Kim Wood of Elkhart, Indiana, Stacy (Dan) Setty of Elkhart, Indiana and Katina Wood of Atlanta, Georgia.

Wanda loved her girls and son in law beyond measure but her true partner in crime was granddaughter Ashton Kate.  Together they kept the streets hot frequenting Concord Mall, 7/11 and nearly every restaurant in town.  Wanda was a true example of unconditional love, dedication and constant entertainment.

Through church and community everyone knew and loved Wanda.  She was the strength of her family, the smile in everyone’s day and the laughter of everyone’s story.  Wanda never had to say a word; those dark eyes of hers told you everything you needed to know.

A private graveside service for the family will be held on Wednesday.
