Wayne E. Newton

Wayne E. Newton, age 89, of Elkhart passed away on January 13, 2021. Wayne was born on October 22, 1931 in Elkhart to William And Margaret Newton. He married Nola Smith in Hinckley, Ohio.

Wayne was one of the founders of Citizens Northern Bank in Elkhart. He was a Corporate Pilot of CP (Coleman Pickrell) Products, the owner of VanTruk, INC in Ft Myers, FL., he was the courier for Edison National Bank in Ft. Myers, FL. He was a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary in Ft. Myers, FL and most recently he drove cars for Eby Ford and Lochmandy Auto Group. Wayne loved spending time with his family.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Nola V. Newton; his children, Phyl (Craig) Stiver and Doug Smith; his grandchildren, Matthew (Laura) Newton, Melissa (Angel) Gonzalez Cate, Cristy Cate, Brianna (Mathis) Bessa, Joshua Samuelson, Matthew Samuelson, and Joseph Samuelson; 11 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Richard “Lee” Newton, Gerry Watkins, Jim (Evelyn) Newton, Robert Newton and Mary (John) Bell.  He is also survived by the mother of his children, Betty Shaver. Wayne was preceded in death by his sons, David Lee Newton in 1950 and Robert W. Newton in 2020, and his parents.
